MR EDEN'S DISCLOSURE

London, Oct. 20.

Mr Anthony Eden, British Foreign Secretary, today gave the first official news that the three Western Foreign Ministers were trying to arrange a conference on Trieste.

He told the House of Commons they were seeking terms accept- able to both Yugoslavia, which first proposed the conference, and Italy. "It is a difficult task but not one of which we should despair," he added.

Consultations with the United States and France since the week- end meeting of the three Foreign Ministers were continuing, Mr Eden said. The Western Governments were also in touch with Italy and Yugo- glavia.
