Explorers Prove Arctic Was

Once Tropical

Ottawa, Sept. 22.

Two Canadian adventurers have brought back from the northland evidence that the seas of the Arctic once enjoyed tropical temperatures.

The evidence was in the form of pieces of fossilised coral found on the ice shores of Ellesmere Island, indicating that the sea there had once a temperature of 60 degrees Fahrenheit instead of its present 28 degrees Fahrenheit.
