Western Europe the general elections in West Germany at the end of next week have n parti- cular significance.
Dr Adenauer's Christian- Democrats Party is returned to power (particularly with an increased majority) it will mean a strengthening of democracy in Europe and will be a sign to Russia that her particular system of government is not wanted in Germany. Dr Adenauer's prospects are fairly good. Public opinion in West Germany has undoubtedly solidified in favour of his Government. For example in June, 1962, Home 20 per cent of the electorate repte affirmatively to the question "Do you agree with the policy of the Federal Government?” while last month $8 per cent said "yes" to the same question. Churchill May Propose Big 3 Shah Gets
Top Level Meeting
REPORTED TO BE CONCERNED OVER SPLIT

London, Aug. 27.
The Prime Minister, Sir Winston Churchill may propose a Big Three meeting with President Eisenhower and the French Premier, M. Joseph Laniel, to try to repair crumbling Western unity, informed sources said today.
The need for a Big Three meeting is even more urgent now than two months ago when the 78-year-old. Sir Winston's sudden illness caused a postponement of the July 8 date at Bermuda, the sources said.
Now that Sir Winston is almost wholly recovered and has resumed direc- tion of Britain's affairs he is considering proposing that the postponed meeting be held soon. The announcement of his illness said only that, it had been
