British

Closer

Association With EDC

PROPOSALS APPROVED

BY CABINET

London, Feb. 27.

The British Cabinet has approved new proposals for closer association of the United Kingdom with the six-nation West European Defence Community, it was authoritatively reported today.

British suggestions accede to the principle of the French request formally submitted by the French Prime Minister and the French Foreign Minister in London earlier this month that Britain be more intimately linked with the EDC and the European Army. But they ex- clude, as before, outright British participation in the Defence Community.
