Turpin Can't Dictate-Yet

By Jimmy Wilde

(Ex-World Flyweight Champion)

When does the world middleweight title come back to Britain? Not long ago the answer would have been- "When the Americans give Randy Tarpin his due.” Now, Randy and his manager, George Middleton, appear to be helping with the delay,

Of the reported £8,900 offer from the U.S. for a fight between Turpin and the winner of the Bobo Olsen- Norman Hayes meeting. Middleton has gone on record as saying: "For a world title fight we should ask con- siderably more than £8,900."

ANNUAL RACE MEETING

PEARCE MEMORIAL CUP

WILL BE THE MAIN ATTRACTION TOMORROW

By "RAPIER”

The Hongkong Jockey Club's Annual Race Meeting will be brought to a conclusion tomorrow and should attract a record gathering of racing enthusiasts to the Valley.

The Pearce Memorial Cup will be the main attraction and the mammoth Cash Sweep will be decided on this ruce. It was won by World Peace, owned by Mr Luk Mun-lal, last year, and there will undoubtedly be keen competition among the owners to carry off the coveted honour tothortow afternoon.

There are 10 events to be 200- lested and the first race will begin at 12.00 Boon sharp,

Here are my estimates of the chances;
