A Stranger for

Christmas

GOOD DEEDS make good news. Ask yourself this: "When the good warm glow of Christmas begins to flow through my household isn't there some UNEX- PECTED person I can ask to my fireside to share it?” ·

Maybe a little boy like

this, for example..

By LEONARD MOSLEY....

TS THERE an unhappy boy whose outlook on life might be altered for the better-by one gesture of friendship, one act of kindness and generosity from you?

In the part of the world where I live, not very far from London, we have been planning to make one boy who did not expect it much happier for Christmas. May I tell you about it in the hope of setting an example?

Joe is the son of a cowman who works on one of our local farms. At ten he has had to face 'more troubles than anyone deserves at such an ago. His mother has been in hospital for nearly a year and may be a long time coming out again. IIis father is a doting parent but only sees his son for a few hours a day. And for the rest of the time he is left in the charge of a district visitor, or neighbours, or relatives from the town.
