SGT Davies, a Welsh miner and a member of 282 Heavy Anti-Aircraft Battery, Royal Artillery (T.A.), has his British Empire Medal pinned, on him by General Sir Cameron G. G. Nicholson, GOC-in-C Western Command, acting on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen. The ceremony took place at Cardiff. Sgt Davies has been in the Territorial Army for 33 years.
