Tonight at 11.15, Immediately after Radio (net)-The London Newsreel, Radio Hongkong is broadcasting a relay of the commentary by Raymond Glendenning on the oldest of the great classics, for three-year-olds and the last of the British flat-racing season — the St Leger.
The prize money for the race this year is the biggest ever the total at stake being £18,730, of which the winning owner receives £15,920 and ten shillings for his horse's victory on the course on Doncaster's Town Mot.
Monday is the first day of Battle of Britain Week, when Britons everywhere remember "the Few" of twelve yeará agð. Group Captain H. M. Pearson, C.B.E., who was at the time in charge of training in No. 11 Group and also part-time Controller in the Operations Room at Uxbridge, had, in his own words "a grandstand view of all that happened." On Mon day evening at 8.10, he will tel! listeners something of the inside story of the Battle.
