Egyptian Reply To British Proposals Not Very Helpful
London, May 21.
Egypt's reply to the British proposals for resuming Anglo-Egyptian treaty talks does not indicate any advance beyond the stage reached during the past month's talks in London and Britain hopes that the key to a settlement may be found by the forthcoming exchanges between the Egyptians and the Sudanese In Cairo, authoritative sources said today.
They said that the official minutes taken of the oral exchanges between the Egyptian Ambassador, Addel. Fattah Amr Pasha," and the Foreign Secretary, Mr Anthony Eden, during the 45-minute meeting between the two yesterday were being examined at the Foreign Office to- day.
