ATHENIAN'S FIRST GOAL

THE CHINA MAIL, MONDAY, MAY 12, 1952.

This picture shows how the Athenian League team scored the first of their four goals in their match against the Ho igkong Selection yesterday. Goalkeeper Gammon, with the sun in his eyes, missighted a high cross centre from the Athenian right-half, Gerrans, and allowed the ball into the net.-China Mail Photo.

England's Test Bowlers Will Not Have The Problem Of Left-handed Batsmen

London, May 11.

England Test howlers will at least not have to face the problem of trying to beat more than one left-handed batsman against the Indian tourists this season.

The solitary left-hander in the tourists' team is Hirala' Gaekwad, who has been included in the side principally on his claims as a left-ars, bowler and, not for any acknowledged prowess with the bat.

DISAPPOINTING FOOTBALL IN FIRST TWO MATCHES WITH ATHENIAN LEAGUE By "SPIV”

The first two matches of the three-match scries between the visit-

This time, however, an appreciable amount of something more has been thrown in, for never has so much disappointment been packed in as few as two games,

From the financial point of view the two matches have been far from success- ful, the stands being approximately three-quarters filled in the first match, and only about half-filled yesterday.
