Under the Sedition Ordinance, nine Chinese - editors. publishers, proprietors and printers — stood in the dock in the Criminal Sessions this morning to face Mr Justice Williams, Senior Puisne Judge, on charges of alleged seditious publications in their newspapers of March 5, 1952.

The newspapers concerned are the Ta Kung Pao, New Evening Post and the Wen Wei Pao.

The indictment was not read, and no plea was taken at the request of Defence Counsel.

The accused who are each on bail of $10,000 will appear on April 16 when the case against the Ta Kung Pao will open at 10 a.m. before a Judge and Jury.
