Japanese Govt Orders Curtailment In Production
Tokyo, Mar. 11.
The Government has ordered a 30 per cent curtailment in the production of eight major cate- gories of rubber goods to restore order to the chaotic over-supply situation existing in the rubber industry, it was learned today.
The Trade Ministry made the decision on Monday and immediately sent out notices to more than 400 manu- facturers of rubber products. It backed up the order with a provision to stop bank loans to violators and at the same time usked the cooperation of bankers and crude rubber importers with the government.

This odd phrase used to mean very much reducing
