Cairo, Alexan- dria and other key cities have been free from dis orders for a fortnight and more, while the Suez Canal Zone has remained "corros- pondingly quiet, The situation has improved Immeasurably giving foun- dation to the impression that King Farouk's present advisera intend to try and find a peaceful solution to the Anglo-Egyptian dis pute. Britain will certainly respond readily, Until now

Until King Farouk dismissed Nahas Patha and his Wafdist Govern ment no attempt was made to present the people of Egypt with a reasoned and fair analysis of the prob- lem.. (From R. M. McCOLL)
Washington, Feb. 10,
The United States is prepared, should an armis- tice satisfactory to the United Nations be reached in Korea, to enter into a much wider conference with the Communists to try and arrive at a general settlement on all problems at present bedevilling the West in the Far East and Southeast Asia.
Among these problems would be one ending the guerilla war in Malaya and two ending the similar Red guerilla campaigns in Indo-China and the Philippines.
༄
But America would have certain conditions for such a general peace conference. They would include:--
1. Insistence that not only Korean political settlement that America, Britain, Russia, is reached. Communist China and France should take part but also all nations having a vital stake In the Far East especially Japan,
2. That the

King Was Overworked Says Church Leader
London, Feb. 10.
A high Anglican Church leader sald tonight that the Britons overworked King George VI until the Monarch's death. He asked his fellow countrymen to spare their new Queen from so much pressure.
Dr. A. C. Don, Dean of West- minster Abbey,, praised the late King's devotion to duty, adding that "the public have taken advantage of these qualities."-
The Dean's statement em- phasised suggestions in soc sections of the British Press thal overwork had hastened the King's depth.
Dr Don preached tonight at the
Abbey only a few yards from Westminster Hall where the King's body will lie in state.
He declared that both the King
and
Queen have been overwork- | ed in recent years. Then refer- ring to young Queen Elizabeth -II, he said:" "Let us beware, that we do not demand too much of her."
