Recreio Ladies beat the Gremlins twice last season and the present Recreio team is quite confident of maintaining the Club's unbeaten record against the Gremlins in League matches when these two teams meet on Sunday afternoon at The Recreio ground.
The team has as big a following as the Gremlins, particularly in home matches, and Sunday's game should attract a record erowd. The Recreio girls are B much younger feam than they were last season. Some of their stars of the last campaign are no longer playing, but their places have been taken by very enthusi- astic youth and the team is a formidable one, particularly in attack.

Goes Into The Second
Round This Week-end

The local Senior Soccer League moves into the second round this week-end with South China in the lead, closely followed by Army and Sing Tao.
Only four points behind South China and two points behind Army, Sing Tao, who have almost assured themselves of the Challenge Shield title, will be making an all-out effort to gain the “double” — an improbable though possible achievement, Their return clash with South China this Sunday will either see them one step nearer their ain or completely at of the running. Last year South China ended up rather weakly and were forced into two replays with Kowloon Motor Bus before utimately winning the title.

OLD WORLD'S CHALLENGE AT HELSINKI WILL BE IN THE DISTANCE EVENTS

Europe's challenge to Americo at the Helsinki Olympic Games will be in the middle distance and distance running events and, though it is usual for Europe to provide the Champions at 5,000 and 10,000 Metres, the | challenge is strong as well in the 800 and 1,500 Metres events.
Next to Zatopek's sensational 20,000 Metres run in under an hour, the most extraordinary performance of the European season was Vladimir Kuzantsev's 3,000 Metres Steeplechase run in 8 minutes 49.8 seconds. To prove that there was nothing wrong with the figures, he repeated with an 8:51.2 effort. This was nearly 10 seconds better than the old unofficial world's best performance in the event.
The Russian challenge is strong in the distance runs, but not strong enough against athletes of the calibre of Emil Zatopek, Herbert Schade and Gaston Reiff.
