Peak Area Residents Wasting Water

DPW's WARNING CIRCULAR

Residents in the Peak area have received a circular from the Director of Public Works appeal- ing for a reduction in water consumption.

men-

The DPW warns that unless there is an immediate reduction in consumption of water in the areas tioned in his circular, it will be necessary to impose special restrictions in respect of hours of supply on those areas.

The text of the circular reads: The imposition of more severe restrictions in the hours of supply on October 12, 1951. has produced generally satisfactory results except for the area of the Peak supply.

Over the whole Colony there Las

been a

a reduction of about

10 per cent in the daily con- sumption, whereas for the Peak area instead of reduction, there has actually been a slight increase in consumption.
