During the past 10 days the United States and Canada have cancelled many orders for woollen and worsted goods, worth, according to trade circles, "a substantial sum." This action follows speeches by Mr Dalton, Minister of Local Government and Planning.

On Sept. 14, at Swansea, Mr Dalton advised people not to buy clothing and textiles until prices dropped. "The price of wool has fallen and I hope will fall further owing to the Government, holding off the market and doing less stockpiling," he said.
