Increase In 'Armed Forces' Pensions
London, July 30. Increases in petalons for the British armed forces, which will initially cont the country £2,000,000 a year, were announced by the Defence Minister, Mr Emanuel Bhinwell, in Par- flament today.
The scheme, which also includes a tax-free grant to all regulars at the end of their service, Tat eventually cost £5,000,000 a year.
The grants are to enable the long-service regular to re-settle in civil life. О- cers will get £1,000, irres- pective of rank.
For non-commisioned nollers, sailors and aliment the grant will vary with rank and length of service from £100 to 2000. — Reuter.
