So Randolph Turpin is champion of the world. He out-fought and out-punch-

ed Sugar Ray Robinson, of the U.S., coloured holder of the middleweight title, from start to finish at Earl's Court, London.

Referee Eugene Henderson didn't need to think twice before he signalled "Turpin wins." The boy from Leamington Spa had not lost more than a couple of rounds.

The weights were mnounced as Robinson 11st. 014lb., Turpin -11st. 4lb.

Here is the round-by-round story of the fight.

Round One. Robinson landed the first punch, a left hook to the head, Bat Turpin. ́after landing hard right to the head, was warned for a right to the back of the body.

It was the first glimpse of the dreaded kidney punch.
