Drive Reds

Out Of Korea

-If Used All-Out

Washington, June 25.

The Senate Committee today · tentatively ended the long hearings on the discharge of Gen- eral MacArthur and on Korean war policy with testimony by a top Air Force officer that American air power could drive the Communists out of Korea if used all-out.

The final scheduled witness was Maj-General Emmett ("Rosie") O'Donnell, Air Force strategic bombing expert and former bomber commander in Korea.

He told the legislators America made a mistake Iri not unleashing air power against the Red "sanctuary" in Manchuria last year. But, he added, since it had not, now it might be wise to reserva long-range bombers as the, "Sunday punch for Russia."

General O'Donnell thought overriding political or diplomatic consideration blocked his plan to hit North Korea in a smashing air blow early in the war if the Communists refused the cease Bre uhimatum.

Communist air crews which had operated against American plans were very definitely be- ing sent to Russia to train new crews in the latest techniques of fighting American planes.
