England Again Preparing To Take Up Six-day Bicycle Racing
London, May 21.
England is preparing to take up, once again, six-day cycling.
It is 11 years since any real six-day cycling event was staged here, and those enthusiasts sponsoring the revival will have to rely on foreign contestants for the opening programme.
Probably in time, some of the young, buckling English cyclists may aspire to challenge the European erack riders, but at the moment there is only Reg Harris, the solitary effectivé professional in Englind who could hope to participate in my first- class event with the chance of making a worthy show,
And he is not keen on the, continental champions. Bruneel
SUMMARIES OF THE COLONY ATHLETIC CHAMPIONSHIPS
The first postwar Colony Athletic Championships at Caroline Hill over the week-end produced a standard of performance that, if hardly comparable to that produced at a major athletle meet in Europe or America, puts Hongkong in a favourable position to take on any major city in Asia, Manila or Singapore included.
Here are the summaries | Lec Kom-hung (S. China). Time: Heltmeyer (King George V
