They thus avenged their 6-4 defeat at the hands of the Hongkong Interport XI in their opening match. Their second match, the latter part of which was played in a torrential rain, ended in a 3-3 draw against a Hongkong Selection.

From the viewpoint of clean play and sporting behaviour, yesterday's game left twice by the re- much to be desired. Although Chang Kam-hoi was admonished feree, the larger number of fouls were committed by the visitors, whose jumping kicks and elbowings were much in evidence.

Believes

In The Future Of

Floodlight Football

Arsenal manager Tom Whittaker, whose organisation at Highbury is as solid and powerful as he is-yes, and every bit as friendly, too-has a better idea of the future of floodlight football than anyone else in England.

It was a great disappointment to him that the condition of the pitch ruled out last week's proposed Combination game under lights. Club representatives from all over the country had planned to send observers of what would have been the first competitive football by floodlight in England.
