Another Tale Of Missed Chances

HONGKONG NEEDS AN ENTIRELY NEW FORWARD LINE

Once again a wocful tale of missed chances and scratching and pawing at the goalmouth unfolded itself when the Hongkong and Kow. loon XI went down by three goals to two to the Danish Boldklubbens at Boundary Street yesterday, and gave cause to the renewal of that hae and cry for the training of a completely new forward line-up for Hong- kong's future representative matches.

For the Danes, it was their farewell match in Hongkong and, already trailing of achievement, they far behind either the Hulsinborgs or Djurgardens in record were all out for their last kill with a gusto that sometimes seemed to be a little too robust for the Hongkong crowd's liking.

On the whole, the game fell much below standard. The main reason for this appeared to be the excessive use, of their weight by the visitors, the shoot and run tactics by the Hongkong forwards, and the almost complete absence of combined movements on either side.

Inter-hong & Ladies' Junior League Competitions Will Be Started Next Month

By "GRANDSTAND”

A recent meeting of the General Council of the Softball Association decided that competition for the Victor Mamak Shield would commence some time in March. The contest which has been known as the Ladies' Junior League, will be open to all teams to the exclusion of the Wahoos who are the Senior League title holders.

+

Owing to the congestion in the schedule as a result of having to arrange for all League games to be played off on one ground, the tournament will be conducted on a straight knockout system.
