Pert, Velvet-Trimmed Tricorne
WHEN worn on the head as illustrated, the front view of this pert little hat It gives a bicorne effect. can be worn as a tricorne, also, with one point at front instead of back.
You need yard of 36′′ felt, about % yard of 1” grosgrain ribbon and 14 yards of velvet tubing.
We made our hat of red felt and black tubing. Velvet tubing can also bo bought ip brown and navy. Use this effective and easy trimming to add the velvet touch to other hats or ac cessories.
Lay felt out flat. Using yard stick and chalk, make a straight edge. Mark length of band,

Measure straight in from A and B

To make triangle for top of hit, as at G, measure distance from C to D and mark game distance from H to 1. Half-way between H and I is J. Straight in from Jis K.
Make lines K-H and K-I same length as H-4. Curve out each side of triangle slightly as indicated by broken line. Round off sharp corners. Cut on curved lines.
Match notches of band to ends of band together at third two triangle corners, bringing corner of top. Siltch as In L. Stitch ends of band together, as at M. Trim to make 14" seam.
