Police Arrest Suspected Informer In Dock With

Armed Robbers

Clever Police work resulted in the clearing up of two recent armed robberies in the Western District by the ar- rest on Saturday of men alleged to be responsible for them. Two men believed to have been involved in a robbery at the Wing Wing Goldsmiths of 183 Queen's Road West last Tuesday morning when 314,000 worth of Jewellery was stolen, have been arrested, It was during an inves Igation into this robbery that a hog-dealer, Chu Fou- ching. was shot by mistake when be ignored a detective's challenge. The hog-dealer is reported to be recovering in hospital.

Other arrests on Saturday were those of three men suspected to be of the gang of four armed men who held up a school-teacher and his wife at 6 Yut Ming Street last Tuesday morning and made off with money and lowellery. The Police have recovered a large part of the loot in both cases.
