Lake Success, Dec. 18.

Delegates from Asian and Middle Eastern countries met today to discuss the Korean cease-fire question after the United Nations Political Committee adjourned indefinitely.

The meeting, called by Sir Benega! Rau, leader of the Indian dele- gation, was confined to the 12 nations which sponsored a resolution call- ing for the appointment of a commission to study existing focuss in the Far East.

WAS not invited to cease-fire but declined to support the other resolution today's meeting.

The meeting was believed to have been called at the instance of those delegations which felt that discussion of broader issues at the same time as the cease- to fire question would help solve the present deadlock,

Sir Benegal. who presided, said, "We considered how best we can allay certain muspicions that have been expressed in connection with the proposal for a cease-fire."

It was clear that he was re- ferring to the statement made by the Chinese Communist re- presentative, General Wu Hslu- | chuan, at a Press conference on Saturday.

General Wu sold that China believed that the proposals were a trap.

Sir Benegal said that the con- ference had not decided on any particular way of allaying the suspicions.
