These are some of the stars of the toughest hockey league of all in the Colony, the inter-House competition at King George V School
Here they had settled inter-House differences and taken the field as the School's Second XI. Other than for the goalkeeper, they all appeared to be under the misapprehension that the field for the match with University was only half the regulation size.
Right through the match they kept trespassing on territory that had been loaned to University for part of the afternoon and when they had finished they were two goals up. They think quite a lot of themselves and hope to finish at least second in the League.
They were, generally, a happier bunch than the First XI and they considered it rather humorous that
anyone wanted to take their photograph. They were grim enough during the actual game.
As they line up on the field of play, they are: The two backs who thought they were forwards, Katherine Davies and Deldre Collar, danking, the goal. keeper, Margery Revie, a rather lonely girl through most of the afternoon..
The half-back line of Vanessa Giles, Au Lal-ahcong and Pamela James. The youngest, contre-half, we have yet seen in the Colony is 10 years old. "Lal” they say, "was born with a hockey stick in her hand.” ·
