BRITISH TEAM
London, Nov. 3.
The open, carefree back play of the British Isles Rugby Union team throughout, their re- cent tour of New Zealand and Australia may have an important influence on the game in the Dominions.
That is the view which Captain L. B... Osborne,.. the team manager, expressed on his return. To many of the younger spectators the "dummy" and the re- verse pass were something new in Rugby football, he said.
These tactics opened a new viata of adventure, which gave backs the attacking and not-as in New Zealand-the supporting role.
Captain Osborne believed in all but one of the six games the success of New. Zealand in in Australia.-Reuter. the Test series was due to the concentrated efficiency of their forwards, whose almost fana-
tical approach had to be seen
to be appreciated.

The Police ground on Boundary Street is the venue of three ragger Federation Congress opens today fixtures on Saturday. The Club seconds and the Navy, in a return en- gagement, commence the proceedings at 2.30 p.m. sharp, followed by the Police and Army tussle, in what appears to be the best match of the three and finally, at 4.30 p.m., the RAF, face up to a weakened Club
Scorpions Team first string.
The following with represent the Scorpions against the Arury today at Chater Road:
LF. Stokes, O. J. Kerr, E. A. Weller, T. A. Pearce, H. Owen- Hughes, R. S. Cull, T. R. Ruffett, H. M. Nowton, J, PO'Driscoll and A. M Nolan. Reserve R. G. Lambrum,
By far the most interesting feature of today's friendlies is the club line up;
the civilians, with a wealth of talented outsides, are relying on a line composed of three wing three's and a fly half.
First impressions indicate either that their regular centres, D. Henderson, J. Campbell and Turville, are injured and that De Rome is still not fit or alternatively the selectors have decided to rest their stars in view of the forthcoming interport with Saigon. The soundness of the latter course at the commencement of a season is debatable.
