The Executive Directors of the International Monetary Fund today decided to postpone consideration of the par value of Pakistan's currency.
Sir Chintaman. Deshmukh, Indian Finance Minis- ter, and Chairman of the Boards of Governors of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank, in a statement on the subject, said, "It is necessary for me to make it clear that the Government of India regret that a decision has been postponed."
The continuance of the pre- sent position would result in two further damage to the countries, he claimed. India would continue to press, in the Fund, that the matter be taken up for decision by the Executive Directora os early as possible.
