ACHESON FAVOURS THE FORMATION OF GERMAN DIVISIONS

Washington, September 11.

The Secretary of Stato, Mr. Doan Acheson, was reported to have told key. Congressmen today that he favoured the oventual croation of an un- specified number of West German division, in a unified European de- fence force.

Mr. Acheson told members of the Senate and House Foreign Relations Com- mittees that he would seek, at diplomatic meetings beginning on Tues- day in New York, to bring Western Germany into the Western Euro-

pean defence effort.

Mr. Christopher Steel, told the West German Government today that the British would do no more dismantling for demilitarization in thoir Zone, a British spokesman said. Dismantling for reparations purposes, would con-
