None of the German expelces or Volksdeutsch is eligible for any kind of IRO ald.
There are nearly 350,000 regis- tered refugees in Austrin, of whom 232,000 are Volksdeutsch of and the remainder mostly Eastern European nationalities. The IRO is caring for 18,000 now and gives legal and political pro- tection to nearly 25,000 more.
Of these the mo does not expect to move more than 14,000 out of Austria by the end of March, 1951, although only 4,009 are true hard-core cases-that is, okl, sick or otherwise incapacitat- ed persons who cannot emigrate.
