X. d'Almada at Kowloon yesterday. Defendants were alleged to, have obtained two: cheques for $6,001 cách on two different

Sun by falsely pretending that first defendant Lilly Stewart held a Crown lease on the site now known as the Rainbow Amuse-, ment Park at the junction of Lalchikok and Nathan Roads for a term of 75 years and was at the time in possession of a government licence to operate an amusement park on the site.

J.K. Sun, the first prosecution witness called to the stand, said: that he first met second and third; defendants on January 14 at a
restaurant where they asked him to participate in the development of the park and that $105,000 would be required. Of this sum. $40,000 would be spent in cor- struction and the rest was to be given to first defendant as "tea money."
