HELLZAPOPPIN EXPECTED TO WIN ST. GEORGE'S PLATE

The Fifth Race Meeting, under the auspices of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, to be held at the Valley this afternoon, consisted originally of 10 events, but owing to the large number of entries for the "Mount Nicholson Stakes,” the Stewards have decided to run the race in two sections.
The Second section will be race No. 11 and run of 6.50 p.m. There will be no Cash Sweep on this
race.
The most important race of the afternoon is the
St. George's Plate, a handicap event for Aus-- tralian Ponies of 1950.

The 1st Battalion Royal Leicestershiro Regiment won the Divisional Unit Championship at the 40 Infantry Division Rifle Meeting at Kai Tak Ranges yesterday, when the three-day Meet was brought to a successful conclusion, exciting finish marked the final of the Falling Plate Competition, which was won by the 1st Staffordshire Regiment, who beat HQ CREME by two plates.
