Had there been a little more polish in their strokes and a lit tle more experience in their court craft, the two boys would have put up what would have been probably the game of the season. There was little to choose be- tween the two boys, except that Remedios with a bigger stature, had a little more power behind his aunshes. The first set was a neck-to-neck rare and was unly won by Pomeroy after deuce was called. In the second set, Reme- dios assumed the offensive and repeatedly caught his opponent with his side-line smashes to the forchand. Jumping to a lead of 0-4, and 11-8, he never looked back until set was reached.
