Chaotic cos in India and Pakistan business at standstill

Chaotic conditions ara provailing in India and Pakistan and domestic as well as foreign business is virtually at a standstill.

This was the opinion of Mr. F. W. Kendall, mana- ger of the Hong Kong office of the Philip- pine Air Lines, who has just returned from o business trip to the indian sub-continent.

In ob Interview yesterday Mr. Kendall said he was sur- prised at the lack of know- ledge hero over the financial crisis now gripping India and Pakistan, which he described as very sqrious and unpre- erdented.

According to

him, the main

reason for this state of affairs is the refusal of Pakistan to devalɗe her rupee after Great Britain and Isla devalued their respegilve eurreneles last year.
