TRUMAN CONFERS ON TAIWAN SITUATION U.S. Security Council meets in Washington

GENERAL BRADLEY PRESENT Washington, December 29.

President Truman today conferred with his military and foreign policy advisers for 75 minutes on Nationalist China's call for holp to save Taiwan from the Communists.

The conferees, comprising the President's National Security Council, re- General fused to say what action, if any, had been recommended.

Omar Bradley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, took with him to the conference a number of proposals advanced by the military to meet the Communist threat to Taiwan.

The Joint Chiefs are reported to favour sending limited arms oid to the Nationalists in Taiwan and a new military mission to advise Gen- oralissimo Chiang Kai-shek's generals.
