Elder statesman Bernard Baruch believes that the most important development of the first half of the 20th century was the advance of more than 20 years in the life expectancy of man. Replying to a United Press poll of distinguished citizens, whose careers have spanned the first 50 years of the century, Baruch phosised that social and economic problems were posed by present-day longevity.
