Brazil, Peru and the Dominican Republic supported Cuba's sug- gestion that the council should ask the United Nations to or- ganise the conference.

Lake Success, October 17. Reports circulated freely among United Nations Assembly de- legates today that Dr. Ralph Bunche, Negro conciliation expert who negotiated the Palestine truce agreement, might be asked to be- come the UN, Commissioner for Libya.
The sub-committee now study- ing the disposition of the former Italian, colonies agreed in prin- ciple late last week that a Com-- missioner should be named to help Libya toward independence and that he should be assisted by a 10-member commission repre- senting the United Kingdom France, the United States, Italy, Egypt, Pakistan, each of the three major Libya areas, and the mine orities.
