RUSSIA HAD

BOMB SECRET SINCE 1947

Moscow, September 25.

An official Soviet statement said today that Russia has had the secret of the atom bomb since 1947,

The statement, issued. by the Soviet news agency Tass, recalled that on November 6, 1947, the former Soviet Minister, Mr. V. M. Molotov, said the secret of the bomb had long ceased to exist. This declaration, the statement said, meant that the Soviet Union already had discovered the secret of the atomic bomb and "has at its disposal this weapon."

"As for the alarm that la ba- Ing spread on this account by certain foreign circles, there are not the slightest grounds For alarm.

The. statement added: the secret of the atomic weapon -- "Scientific circles in the Unit already in 1947. ed States understood Molotov's statement as a bluff, believing the Russians could produce the atomic weapon not earlier than 1952.
