The Potsdam PROGRESS IMPOSSIBLE
Period
Washington, June 21.
President Truman said tonight that the results of the Foreign Ministers Council, meeting in Paris underline the metersity of continuing America's foreign policy.
In his statement, issued after conferring with the Secretary of State, Mr. Dean Acheson, the President criticised Russia for failing to recognise progress since Potsd am and, by seeking to return to Potsdam, making real progress towards a German settlement impossible.
Mr. Truman strossed his satisfaction at the close co-operation of the three
Western Powers.
He said that this was the de- monstration of the progress made possible by the fentity of ideals and value which are the cornman
