The prototype of a 40-mile-a-gallon 75 miles-an- hour light car is nearing completion at the work of James Fairley and Sons, Sheffield. One early model of the Fairley has been tested on the roads, and reached speeds up to 75 miles an hour with an average petrol con- sumption of 40 miles a gallon.
