Dutch Sending Ships To United Kingdom Ports ACCEPTING LOW RATES

TENSION RISING IN RANGOON

London, March 30.

The Dutch shipping lines, waging an all-out freight slashing offensive against British and Indian companies on the Eastern route, today carried the "war" into Britain.

They announced they ore sending five ships in the 7,000-8,000 tons class, to pick up cargoes in Britain, something never done before, during the next seven weeks.

They added that they are accepting freight rates 60 per cent below the rates of the International Shipping Conference, from which they havo withdrawn.
