COURT REJECTS PLEA OF GUILTY BY YOKOHATA
The War Crimes Court at Lyemun Barracks yos-
terday rejected à plea of guilty entered by Ser- geant-Major Yokohata Toshiro, formerly of the Shanghai Kempeitai, and ordered the trial to proceed.
Yokohata was charged with committing, a war crime by ill-treating civilion residents of Shanghai, including Henry Forsythe Pringle, Alexander Haindrava, Ernest Le Roy Healey, Morris Joseph Soulevitch, Boris S. Frank, the Reverend W. H. Hudspeth, Kenneth William Johnstone and William Slade Bunger, at Shanghai, between September 1 and Novem- ber 30, 1942.
