With the vital battle of Hsuchow now in the third confused week, the Government's appeals, arguments and demands for further immediate American aid are becoming more and more urgent, and are the dominating feature of Nanking's political scene.
These cries for help follow blunt statements of
China's dangerous plight published abroad, including remarks by Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek, quoted in Washington, that China will fall to the Communists unless direct and liberal military aid, plus a loan, are forth. coming.
