P.O. BROOK ADMITS Turnabout EVIDENCE NOT TRUE Turned Down

Because his conscience worried him and because

he had a wife and children, Petty Officer Brook, admitted at Central yesterday that the evidence he gave in the dockyard case was not true.

Brook was the second witness for the prosecution against Petty Officer J. C. Horton, who is charged with the theft of two engines, and with conspiracy to steal the engines. W. F. Smith and R. G. Stewart are charged with con- spiracy.
