SOVIET UNION WILL RESUME BERLIN CRISIS NEGOTIATIONS

Berlin, October 2.

The Soviet Union is prepared to resume negotiations on the Berlin crisis on the basis of the four-power agreement reached in Moscow on August 30, Marshal Vassily Sokolovsky, the Soviet Military Governor in Germany, declared here tonight.

The August 30 agreement provided the directive to the four Military Governors in Germany, whose talks began the following day but broke down eight days later.
