It is also feared on the evi- dence available that Djarangan Estate of 2,495 acres sitiated more to the west will have suffered a similar fate. A further reliable report states that the Company's Coffee Estate, Pano- wangan of 1,285 acres, has been completely destroyed. Pana- wangan Estate is reported to have been destroyed during the Japanese occupation, but the other destruction appears to have been comparatively recent, as the properties were reported as being in production when Japan surrendered. Panawangan has just been visited by a representative of the Company, but all the other Estates are still inaccessible and have been in accessible since the Japanese surrender.
