Drastic Measures To Be Taken
Athens, May 1. Martial law was proclaimed today in the Athons dis- trict, the Polloponnesus, Crete and other Grock Islands a few hours after the assassination of M. Christos Ladas, the Minister of Justice, who was wounded in the head and stomach by a grenade.
The alleged assailant, a 22-year-old street sweeper named Efstratios Mountzayannis, was taken to hospital unconscious. One of the police guard- ing the Minister was killed.
