CONTROLLING OF PROFITS Wage And Price Freezing Campaign Manufacturers To Absorb Costs

* London, Feb. 24.

Mr. Harold Wilson, President of the Board of Trade, announced today that he had signed 14 orders designed to assure that there would be no provocative increase in prices or profits that would strengthen demands for increased wages.

The new orders follow the announcement by Sir Stafford Cripps, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, on February 12 thof the Government would put a price ceiling on a large range of goods based on the December-January levels as one step in its "freeze wages, profits and prices" pro- gramme to check inflation.
