Mr. John Snyder, Secretary of the Treasury, today urged the European countries in the Marshall Plan to take "prompt and vigorous" measures for monetary stabilisation. Testifying before the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee, he forecast that when such adequate steps were accomplished, the United States would extend stabilisation loans in addition to the aid she intends to give for the purchase of goods under the European recovery programme.
