Shanghai, Aug. 20. Chi Sing.feng, engitain of the Chinese passenger ship Chikang, which collided with another ship and sank it in the Yongtze river lost January, causing

the death

of 400 persons, was convicted to day in the District Court of neg- lect of duty and sentenced to one year's imprisonment.

The captain of the other Chin- ese ship, Chong Chung-sin, was convicted on u similar charge and sentenced to eight months' im. prisonment.
